Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM)

Overview

GCCM is unlike any other facility in the region.  It is the largest facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere and indeed, one of the largest in the world, and it is growing to meet demand.  The magnitude of the facility is matched by its service standards which are exemplified in the many awards and accolades the yard has received since its inception in 2000 and the consistently outstanding reviews from visiting captains.

The shipyard boasts a clean and controlled 50,000 m2 hardstand, eight purpose-built refit sheds and a dedicated work basin. This facility is home to over 80 on-site businesses employing over 700 top-quality marine contractors.

GCCM was the first shipyard in the Asia Pacific region to be awarded the highly coveted 5 Gold Anchor Marina Accreditation and is also an IGY Anchor Club Strategic Partner, a preferred service provider for Benetti Yachts and the East Coast Australia Agent for Seal Superyachts (one of the most comprehensive superyacht support agency in the world).  

Facilities

The shipyard boasts a clean and controlled hardstand that is over 50,000m2, 20 purpose-built refit sheds, a dedicated superyacht work basin for vessels up to 75 metres and, most notably, plays home to the largest concentration of marine trades in Australia with over 80 on-site businesses employing in excess of 700 highly-skilled marine contractors.   Captains are free to manage their own yard period or to use the services of more than 10 highly qualified Project Managers onsite with international experience managing new builds, refits and maintenance for some of the world’s most reputable brands.  Choice, flexibility and transparency are guaranteed with no hidden mark ups applied.

Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

A thoroughly modern and sustainable yard, on-site initiatives include water harvesting, treatment and recycling, hard and liquid waste recycling and the largest marine solar power facility in the world.  GCCM’s longstanding commitment to environmental best practice is demonstrated by the facility’s recent 100% score on its Clean Marina Accreditation. 

Future development

To accommodate the growing size of yachts, GCCM is developing an adjacent 20-hectare sister facility.  This new yard will augment the current capacity to accommodate yachts up to 75 metres and in excess of 1,000 tonnes on the hardstand and 85 metres in the water.

Onshore support and services

The world-class capabilities at GCCM are complimented by a range of thoughtful services and facilities including an impressive restaurant/café, newly refurbished laundry and ensuite facilities, courtesy vehicles and bicycles, VIP access to local gyms and resorts, a complimentary airport shuttle service, complimentary wi-fi and a brand new dedicated Superyacht crew suite is on the way.   A dedicated customer relations officer is also on hand to provide a truly personalized level of care attention for visiting yachts and is available to make restaurant reservations, source provisions, book hotels, recommend night life hot spots, arrange medical requirements and generally make your visit enjoyable.

Service Paradise in Surfers Paradise

GCCM is located on Australia's Gold Coast.  This thriving city is known for its golden beaches and world class surf breaks.  Yet, more than a beachside town, the Gold Coast is a modern cosmopolitan city with a thriving restaurant, bar and events scene.  The beauty of the 57 kilometres of pristine surf beaches is matched by the tranquillity of the lush rainforest which sit behind the Gold Coast in the Scenic Rim.  Many crew have commented GCCM is the only shipyard in the world where you catch a break in the morning, complete a full day on the shipyard then relax with sunset drinks looking over the ocean.  Not to mention bush walking and wine tasting on the weekends.

Fuel Bunkering

The fuel wharf is available 7 days a week. Fast flow diesel 200 litres/min and premium unleaded are available.  If you require more the 10,000 litres, please contact the Reception and a fuel bunkering delivery will be arranged.

Refit & Repair

GCCM is the Asia Pacific’s most awarded refit and repair facility and is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere with capacity for yachts up to 75 metres.  The onsite service capabilities extend to all aspects of marine refit, maintenance and construction.   Superyachts have the option to self-manage their works however, there are over 12 international project managers onsite to professionally manage any work to be on time and on budget getting the yacht back on the water sooner.
