About Cayman Islands

Overview

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Crown Colony Territory and major world offshore financial centre which can be conveniently bridged and visited on cruising itineraries between Honduras / Belize (about 500 miles to the west), Cuba (about 200 miles to the north) and Jamaica (about 180 miles to the southeast). The territory consists of three Islands; Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. The official port of entry for Grand Cayman is the main port on the West Coast of George Town. CI Port Security always stands by on VHF channel 16 for vessels who would like to clear into the country. However, clearing in at the Barcadere Marina is also possible at the discretion of Customs and Immigration with adequate advanced notice (48hrs minimum).
